So we didn't get as great a view as some parts of the country, but I got caught up in eclipse fever this morning — why not? how often does this happen?!

I found this video from NASA —

about how to make a simple pinhole projector, and put my own together in about two minutes —

Worked like a charm, too!

The top photo is just before ten o'clock, and this one,

and this one at about 10:40.

Well, I'm sure that NASA and National Geographic et al. will have much more interesting photos, but for DIY I'm fairly pleased!

    Gosh, that is rather marvellous. I watched NASA TV for a while and saw it in four states, then I got bored because all the presenters were saying silly things, like – gosh it just got dark! And that was an expert in Madras, Oregon…
    My first and best beloved niece lives in Las Vegas and was miffed because the sky was covered in cloud. At least the temperature was lower.

    I used the two sheets of paper technique, then at the as close to totality time as MN was going to get a big crowd formed outside my building and everyone was sharing glasses. That was really fun, but the clouds rolled in. I know people who drove to Missouri to go see it. I wasn’t that excited about it.
